Rodeo teams back in the saddle at Will Lantis Yellow Jacket Stampede

Spearfish, S.D. – Mid-Plains Community College rodeo teams closed out the Will Lantis Yellow Jacket Stampede, hosted by Black Hills State University, with seven top ten finishes.

Koy McAllister led the way, with a first-place finish in saddle bronc with a total of 145 points over the weekend. Trace Scarlavai returned to the top of the podium by claiming the gold buckle in bull riding.

In bareback, Jackson Lunn and Kahiwa Augustiro closed out the weekend with third and fourth place finishes, while Jace Richter and Kahiwa Augustiro teamed up to finish eighth in team roping.

Zach Miller placed sixth in tie-down roping, while Sam Gerlach added a seventh-place finish in barrel racing with a time of 33.49 seconds.

Rodeo teams will conclude the regular season at the Nebraska Cornhusker Rodeo in Lincoln May 1-2.
