MPCC Rodeo Team to host fall breakaway fundraiser

The Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team will host a fall breakaway roping fundraiser Nov. 8 at the Kiplinger Arena in McCook.

This year’s event will feature junior high, high school, and open divisions. Competition will begin with the open division at 10 a.m., followed by the youth divisions.

Ropers in the open division will compete in two rounds, with the top 10 advancing to the short go. Competitors in the youth divisions will each have two rounds.

Entry fees are $100 for the youth divisions and $150 for the open division. Contestants may enter twice. Only cash will be accepted for entries, and payouts will also be made in cash. Entries are due by noon on Nov. 3.

All events are open to the public and free to watch.
