MPCC men’s rodeo team claims title at Mystics Stampede Rodeo
Mandan, N.D. – The Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team wrapped up its fall schedule on a high note at the Mystics Stampede Rodeo in Mandan, N.D.
The men’s team finished atop the leaderboard in the team standings, while the women’s team finished in seventh place.
Kahiwa Augustiro earned the men’s all-around title after notching a second-place finish in bareback riding and a third-place finish in bull riding. Augustiro also garnered a second-place finish in the team roping event alongside teammate Eli Higa.
Higa brought home the reserve champion title after claiming the short round and average in the bull riding event. Teammate Trace Scarlavai grinded out a second-place finish in bull riding, while Cinch Painter notched a second-place finish in steer wrestling.
Jackson Lunn continued his winning ways in the bareback event taking both rounds and the average to earn his sixth title of the fall season.
Matt Miller and Jace Richter added top five finishes in the tie down event. Miller brought home a second-place finish in the average, while Richter finished fourth in the field.
Koy McAllister won the short round in the steer wrestling and saddle bronc events. McAllister followed that up with a fourth-place finish in steer wrestling on Saturday.
Laynee Ohm led the way for the women’s team with a fifth-place finish in the goat tying event.
