Nutt named Post-Secondary Teacher of the Year
Cathy Nutt has been named the 2024 Post-Secondary Teacher of the Year by the Mountain-Plains National Business Education Association.
The Post-Secondary Teacher of the Year recognition is bestowed upon NBEA members who spend at least .50 full-time equivalent teaching business education and who have made additional outstanding contributions in business education beyond the classroom at the community, state and or national levels.
Nutt is a Business and Technology faculty member and Center for Teaching Excellence Coordinator at North Platte Community College, a division of Mid-Plains Community College. She teaches Business, Economics, Personal Finance and Agribusiness.
“I’m humbled to join the other great business leaders who have been awarded this honor in the past,” Nutt said. “I can’t imagine doing anything else. I love what I do.”
Nutt was honored during the 2024 Mountain-Plains NBEA Regional Council Awards Banquet last month in Denver. Jean Condon, Business and Technology Division Chair, nominated her for the award.
Colleagues and students describe Nutt as “an organized, efficient, passionate and motivating instructor, one who engages with students by not only teaching the theory but embellishing the concepts with personal anecdotes and experiences that bring learning to life.”
The Mountain-Plains Business region includes Colorado, Kansas, Manitoba, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Saskatchewan, South Dakota, Texas and Wyoming.
