MCC’s Wrightstone Gallery showcasing nearly 300 high school art pieces at Paint-In exhibition through April 14
McCook Community College Art Instructor Rick Johnson (left) and his students help hang nearly 300 works of arts in the Wrightstone Fine Art Gallery as part of the MCC 2023 Paint-In Exhibition.
MCC art students include: Shayley Nordyke, Denay Pelster and Desyrae Carroll.
Works from 18 area high schools will be on display through April 14 at the gallery.
The public is welcome to view the works. Admission is free.
Art will be judged in seven categories including: painting, drawing, prints, mixed media, three-dimensional, pottery and digital work/photography.
Scholarships will be awarded and four winners announced in each category.
The event culminates with the paint-in event April 14 at the Peter and Dolores Graff Events Center from 9 a.m.-noon with the winning school announced – along with the winners of the exhibition – at the awards ceremony starting at 1 p.m.
