MCC students/staff recognized at Honors Convocation

McCook Community College students, faculty and staff were honored Monday at the annual Honors Convocation held for the first time ever at MCC’s East Campus.
Honorees included representatives from various college clubs and organizations and recipients of the following awards:
Cabinet Awards
Presidential Award – Marta Moya Perez, Alboraya, Spain. The Presidential Award is presented to an outstanding student who has excelled in academics, leadership and service to the college and community.
Vice President of Student Services Award – Johanna Gerlach, Hachborn, Germany. The recognition is for an outstanding student leader who has demonstrated a commitment to co-curricular achievement.
Vice President of Instruction Award – Sarah Fischer, McCook. The award is given to an outstanding student who has excelled in the classroom and demonstrated a commitment to continued academic achievement.
Division Awards

Faculty Achievement in Student Success Award – Jon Olsen, physical education instructor, athletic director, baseball coach. The award is presented to an outstanding faculty member who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to student success and student retention.
