Calibraska Sign-Up Party planned for Saturday
North Platte Community College will offer animation, film, acting and creative writing classes by L.A.- based instructors this summer as part of the Calibraska Arts Initiative.
A sign-up party is planned for 2-4 p.m. Saturday in the McDonald-Belton Building on the North Platte Community College South Campus, 601 W. State Farm Rd.
Those who attend the party will have the opportunity to meet Calibraska Arts Initiative founder Erica Larsen-Dockray, view the animation equipment, take advantage of class discounts, snag giveaways, enter to win prizes – including original art from the hit TV show, “The Simpsons,” enjoy snacks and more.
The first 10 students to sign-up for the summer offerings will receive a free water bottle or smartphone photo/video lens set.
“NPCC is such a great host and partner, so I am super excited to bring out a team again to support their summer programming,” said Larsen-Dockray. “It felt like the right idea to throw a sign-up party to help get folks familiar with what we are doing and get them involved.”
The summer classes will be July 11-23 at NPCC. There will be eight to choose from:
- Animation 1.0 for ages 7-13
- Animation 1.0 for ages 13 and older
- Animation 2.0 and 3.0
- Cineflix Film Camp for middle school students
- Cineflix Film Camp for high school students
