Borges named MPCC Business Student of the Month

Amanda Borges has been selected as Mid-Plains Community College’s Business Student of the Month for February.

Borges is from Venango, Neb., and is married to Anthony Borges. She chose MPCC because the college offers many great opportunities, is student focused and accommodating to veterans and their families.

“MPCC has made the transition into college life seamless, while providing excellent resources and help. The instructors have provided excellent course material and lessons. I continue to learn and grow because of their efforts,” Borges said.

Business instructor Jimi Cole nominated Borges for the Student of the Month recognition.

“Amanda is a pure joy to have in class. She sparks life into every online classroom with her passion for learning, engaging discussions and infectious enthusiasm,” said Cole.

Borges is studying medical billing and coding at NPCC. She’s on track to graduate in the spring of 2025 with an associate’s degree.

She plans to continue her education by earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology and becoming a certified medical coder, specializing in mental health.

In her free time, Borges said she enjoys reading, writing and outdoor activities. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband, son, family and animals.
